Take your R53 build beyond basic bolt-ons with a Cat Cams camshaft upgrade for the 2002–2006 MINI Cooper S. This is not a one-size-fits-all cam. EMSCAuto offers three Cat Cams profiles so you can match the camshaft to your build, power goals, and how the car is actually used.

Whether you want a stronger street car, a more aggressive sport setup, or a serious tarmac rally/race combination, there is a profile built for it.

A performance camshaft helps the R53 breathe better, improve cylinder filling, and make better use of supporting mods like reduced supercharger pulleys, ported heads, headers, intercoolers, and tuning. The result is a harder pulling engine, better power through the rev range, and a more serious performance character.

Best for drivers who want a noticeable upgrade over stock without pushing the build too far. Good fit for street-focused R53s with supporting bolt-ons. Does NOT require valve spring upgrade

Option 2: Sport

Duration at 1 mm: 219° / 223°
Valve Lift: 10.00 mm / 8.50 mm
TDC Lift: 0.75 mm / 1.50 mm

A more aggressive profile for stronger mid-range and top-end power. Ideal for modified street cars and more serious performance builds. This is the cam in all SneedSpeed Sport series engines. Requires valve spring upgrade

Built for high-performance applications where maximum breathing and top-end power matter more than stock-like manners. Best suited for track, tarmac rally, and race-focused R53 builds. This is the cam in all SneedSpeed race engines. Does require valve spring upgrade
